Ninety-six (96) members of the People’s Law Enforcement Board from the Province of Bukidnon underwent an orientation on PLEB conducted jointly by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region 10 and National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) Region 10, respectively. 

PLEB is established by virtue of Republic Act Nos. 6975 and 8551. It is created as a local community mechanism tasked to investigate and decide citizen’s complaints initiated against erring members of the Philippine National Police (PNP).             

Among its powers include n to conduct hearings, resolve and decide on cases filed against erring officers of the Philippine National Police; n to establish linkages with other government agencies and initiate contacts will Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOS) in the community for a wider network of alliance in the flight to restore order and discipline among the members of the PNP, and maintain goodwill towards the church and church oriented groups for moral advantage of the PLEB; n to conduct seminars for the PLEB assist in improving the professionalism, restore discipline and credibility among the members of the police force, among others. 

Among the members of PLEB are the Sanggunians, ABC presidents, NGOs, representatives from Department of Education and the religious sector, among others.

Said seminar was initiated by the province of Bukidnon to instill knowledge to the PLEB members regarding organization and procedure, administrative due process, administrative penalties, appreciation of evidence, decision writing, among others. It was observed that the PLEBs experienced some several constraints as a police disciplinary body, thus the conduct of said seminar. ### (DILG-10)
